Looking for Janet’s annual training in Bali? She’ll host that at Bagus Jati from April 3-13. 2022.
Janet’s studentship began at 17 under the meditation teachings of Prem Rawat. His reverence for simplicity and finding joy in the rise and fall of life live on in her practice and teaching today. In 1996, she traveled to India, the birthplace of her grandfather, and became dedicated to the path of yoga. Janet blends the alchemy of her own practice with decades of studentship. She aspires not to teach but to allow the practice to emanate from her, letting awareness blend with movement and breath. Based in Bali and San Francisco, she leads immersions, retreats, workshops and more.
The training will begin with dinner on April 16 and end with breakfast brunch on April 23.
The deposit is $808, and it is non-refundable and non-transferable. Read our cancellation policy.
If there are exceptional circumstances, such as ongoing covid-related restrictions, we will adapt this policy accordingly.
If you are seeking an opportunity to unwind, chill and explore Bali, then the Bali Bliss retreat at Soulshine may be more your speed. There will be 1-2 practices per day and loads of free time, for exploring, optional excursions, and just relaxing.
If you are are looking for a teacher training and a deep immersion in practice, the training will be a great fit. The immersion is intensive, with daily morning practice, followed by training material until dinner time (with generous breaks for breakfast and lunch). The training will include dharma/philosophy sessions, anatomy + ayurveda, asana lab + assisting practice, and more). The immersive nature of the training tends to cultivate pretty deep bonds, as you are together for so many hours. The immersion includes group excursions that everyone does together, plus all the training time.
Bali’s airport is in Denpasar. It is about 1.5 hours from Bagus Jati.
This will depend on your city of departure.
Based upon our learnings from covid-related cancellations in 2020 and 2021, we highly highly recommend booking directly with the airlines, and choosing an airline that is offering refunds or flexible changes.
The length of the flight will depend on your departure city, of course. From the US, it takes about one day of travel. Most flights go through either Taipei or Singapore. Plan your flights so you arrive no later than 3 pm on Saturday, April 16. You can depart on April 23—flights that depart after 3 pm are ideal. We highly recommend booking flights directly through the airlines. China Airlines and Singapore Airlines are among our most recommended options.
We will work with Soulshine to coordinate transportation to and from the airport, as well as to and from Ubud. The transfer fees are not included in the retreat, because many students choose to travel on their own before or after the training.
Visa requirements are changing as Indonesia reopens to international tourists.
Previously, Visa on Arrival was free and available upon arrival. As of November 2021, a visitor visa is required with a 7-14 day processing time and approximately USD$300-400. In addition, a 4 day quarantine is required upon arrival. However, requirements are shifting rapidly, and we hope to have a better sense of entry requirements in early 2022.
We will provide guidance on the process if it an advance visa is required.
Currency exchange services are very easy to find in Bali. In addition, ATMs are widespread, and most credit and debit cards work in Bali. Check with your bank because many cards offer currency exchange withdrawals without a fee.
