Energetic Alignment

Energetic Alignment

Overview

Aligning from the inside out

Alignment is an expression of the greatest vitality and most amount of ease in our being. This makes space to experience the most amount of integration and connection in our own body and clears a pathway for a mind–heart harmony. We'll explore an approach to alignment that goes beyond muscle and bone, and connects us with the movement of energy in the subtle body.

You'll learn to:

  • Create a steady foundation for both simple and complex postures.
  • Explore how internal experiences shape outer alignment
  • Explore your practice as the foundation for building asana sequences
  • Align the physical body with emotions, experience and history
  • Bring sankalpa/intention into each pose and the transitions between poses
  • Integrate a sense of spanda (expansion and contraction) into practice
  • Explore the five directions of prana as a foundation to physical and emotional integration and alignment
  • Understand the key anatomical foundations for alignment, via guest teacher, Harvey Deutch

Janet Stone

Janet Stone

Janet’s studentship began at 17 under the meditation teachings of Prem Rawat. His reverence for simplicity and finding joy in the rise and fall of life live on in her practice and teaching today. In 1996, she traveled to India, the birthplace of her grandfather, and became dedicated to the path of yoga. Janet blends the alchemy of her own practice with decades of studentship. She aspires not to teach but to allow the practice to emanate from her, letting awareness blend with movement and breath. Based in Bali and San Francisco, she leads immersions, retreats, workshops and more.

FAQ

How is this course setup?

We are using an intuitive, yet robust learning platform, called Mighty Networks. Once you enroll in the course, you’ll be invited to join the course + community space and you'll have access to the course intro.

Will I get access to everything at once?

In order to provide a container for this practice and process, one lesson will be covered each week for 5 weeks. As soon as you enroll, you’ll get access to introductory lectures and practices that will thread through the entire course.

I live in a different timezone (or country or continent)? Will I be able to participate in the course?

The course is setup so that it works for individuals no matter where they live in the world. New content will be released each week, and you can work through the practices, videos and exercises at your own pace. The ongoing community connection in the Mighty Network sets up an amazing way for ongoing connection, wherever you are.

Will we be doing a physical practice with this course?

There is an asana practice curated for each week’s exploration and theme.

How much time should I plan to spend each week?

We recommend setting aside about 1.5-2 hours for your first exploration of each weekly module. This is a great time to reflect on the prior week (we include reflections at the end of each module), to explore the current module's discussions, practices and readings.

It's also great to look at your week and get a sense of how much time for practice you have each day and set your intentions and commitments for the week. It can be fantastic to pick 2 practices from the week to integrate into your daily practice and to explore all of the practices on the days when you have more time.

Can I rewatch or review content from earlier weeks?

Yes, absolutely. Once content for a week is unlocked, you will have access to that in the future. You can return to the course at any time and you’ll receive any updates to the curriculum for future course releases as well.

How do I request a sliding scale rate or apply for a partial scholarship? Or How do I know if I qualify for these options?

We trust that each individual knows their current and historical financial experience best. Sliding scale rates are readily available to you if the options make it feasible for you to join us. If the sliding scale rates feel like a financial stretch, we invite you to request a partial scholarship. The request form is quick and easy and will direct you to the scholarship payment options.

Who can I email if my question wasn’t answered here?

Email connie@janetstoneyoga.com if you have other questions.
