I will not step aside.
I'm not going to whither in the face of youth.
I will not shrink back in the world of “likes” equals value and newer is better.
I shall stand tall, steady in the grace of these many years lived, and I will bow to each–and-every day that has realized the depth of understanding I am bestowed with.
I will roar with joy at the blessing of time and how it intensifies gratitude. I promise to thank each line and change in my body as a marker of wisdom.
Like a tree, my rings are many and my roots are deep. No need to chop me down and try to make a higher platform. Come sit under my branches and enjoy the fruits of my practice as I sit under the shade of my teacher's.
Jai Ma Durga!
To my grandmothers, mother, sister, and daughters and to all of the grandmothers, mothers, sisters and daughters, we are strong together.
